Tokio Hotel (formerly Devilish ) is a German pop rock band consisting of Bill Kaulitz (vocals), Tom Kaulitz (guitar, keyboards), Georg Listing (bass, keyboards) and Gustav Schäfer (drums).

The album was recorded in both German and English with both versions set for a simultaneous worldwide release bearing the same title, Humanoid. The German version of the album was released on October 2, 2009 in Germany and other European countries, while the English version was released in the United States on October 6, 2009. Unlike their previous English-language album, Scream, Humanoid had no UK release. In December of 2010, Tokio Hotel released Best Of, a compliation of their best and most successful songs. Both English and German albums were released December 14, 2010. The limited edition deluxe CD/DVD was released on January 18, 2011. On December 18, 2010, Tokio Hotel made the long-awaited arrival to Tokyo, Japan, for a showcase.
